There are over 4000 in the world and we’re all inventive and hugely passionate about what we do. At our Development Centre in Johor Bahru, there are 1400 of us, a mixture of engineers and support staff, we are Dyson people that are encouraged to think differently, challenge convention and be unafraid to make mistakes. Our teams there will rise to more than 2000 over the next 5 years.

Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.
The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

Neodymium magnets. Aerospace-grade carbon fibre. PEEK high strength plastic. Just a few of the materials procured to build just one of our machines – the Dyson digital motor V2. But when you design unconventional machines, you need unconventional materials. The Procurement department works directly with RDD on Dyson’s most secret projects. Sourcing high quality materials, and finished components with demanding specifications, means tracking down niche suppliers. It requires tenacity, speed and efficiency to meet project milestones. In essence, we need to be as inventive as Dyson engineers. 



As Supply Chain Manager – Strategic Projects you will be responsible for converting manufacturing and business requirements into actionable strategies and tactics as they relate to developing and creating Agile and Dynamic supply chains enabling Dyson to scale and grow to meet the business growth plans.

SCM-SP will be required to support in the execution of current projects as well as to work with the business to identify/develop and execute business efficiencies and other projects that will work to digitise the supply chain. This position will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives across the supply chain with key partners, leveraging on data and data driven collaboration.

You will have program management capability to deliver projects on time, on cost and which deliver significant change and transformation to current ways of working. Thinking strategically you will be responsible for cross functional communication, alignment of business requirements in scoping and development of strategic development projects. You will take hands on approach to problem solving which will require a strong analytical mind-set with capability to work as a single contributor and team leader as required.

  • Create and define strategic development project plans and charters
  • Facilitate and drive cross functional project teams to deliver business change requirements

  • Clear and C-level capable communication in written and verbal

Detailed Responsibilities and Tasks


  • Existing business process and ways of working with view of strategic road map.
  • Statistical modelling and modelling of as is model and to be development plans
  • Six Sigma and Lean Sigma approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use judgement in data analytics to develop and design solutions for complex processes

Management & Communicating

  • Program/Project Management experience and capability to drive change cross functionally through organisations
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English with capability to produce and deliver C-level project plans, analysis and presentations
  • Ability to interface with different levels of management and tailor messages accordingly whilst understanding the impact of decisions on others within the organisation


  • Must be able to work as part of a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to work as single contributor and as part/leader of a team
  • Change embracing and adaptability to business change




• Bachelor’s degree or 10 or more years work experience
• Program/Project Management experience

• Ability to lead and drive business change projects and handle multiple tasks to meet required deadlines on time

• Ability to manage third party vendors/staff and drive change

• Excellent numeric and analytical skills

• Excellent communication skills in English written and verbal

• Proven capability in producing C-Level reports and documentation



• Bachelor’s degree or 10 or more years work experience

• ACIPS training is advantageous
