Market Overview

The Dyson PCSO in Philippines will oversee all aspect of finance operations relating to activities in running Dyson’s high tech Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) facility, as well as operations pertaining to the manufacturing and exporting of finished goods produced by our contract manufacturer in Laguna in the Philippines.   

Function Overview

This role will be fully responsible for the site’s pollution control and safety control and compliance. This role will be responsible for making sure all legal and Dyson standards are met and to advise the business on all requirements that need to be satisfied.

Accountabilities

  • Discharge duties as stipulated under Occupational Safety and Health Standards, LOI588, RA6969, RA8749, RA9003, RA9275, and other relevant rules and regulations

  • Perform Health Safety & Environment (HSE) inspection, with weekly reporting, tracking and follow-up of corrective / preventive actions

  • Conduct and review risk, aspect impact assessment, and ensure proper implementation of control measures and it effectiveness

  • Involve in CSR and other HSE related audit, work closely with internal & external audit team to resolve findings

  • Develop and review HSE procedures to align with business needs, legal and other applicable requirement

  • Plan, formulate and conduct HSE related training for employee and contractor, and upkeep the training records

  • Chair Workplace Safety & Health committee and other HSE related meetings to share latest legal updates and best practices

  • Lead incident investigation, identify and report root cause, proposed practicable preventive measures

  • Conduct fire and chemical emergency drill for all work shift, and train ERT member on regular basis

  • Organized HSE programme and activities to promote HSE awareness among employee and contractor

  • Monitor and ensure proper segregation, storage, disposal of scheduled / hazardous waste, owner for E-tracking

  • Liaison for local authorities / ministries, on legal requirement, certification and licensing matters

  • Ensure license, permit or any other inspection / certification required are obtained and renewed timely

  • Track and communicate HSE performance with stakeholder of business unit

  • Work with MR to maintain and upkeep ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 certification

  • To create a proactive health and safety culture in the company

  • Monitor the use of chemicals and the generation of solid and hazardous wastes, and submission of required report

  • Report to EMB Regional Office on occurrence of an environmental incident, as required by law


Skills

  • Degree/Diploma in Civil/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Chemical engineering or similar

  • Possess relevant Safety & Health qualification and an accredited practitioner in OSH

  • Familiar with environmental, fire safety, ISO & OHSAS requirement

  • Min. 3 years’ experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to work with staff of all levels

  • Self-starter, well organized and pragmatic approach towards resolving HSE issues

  • Experienced with new start-up and contractor management will be an added advantage

  • Completed Basic PCO Training Course by an EMB-recognized training organization/ institution within the last 3 years
