The Senior Business Process Analyst is responsible primarily for ensuring that our product development and wider product lifecycle management business processes are continuously improved to be lean, efficient and effective. They are responsible for scoping, planning and delivering projects in the Optimisation Roadmap. This involves facilitating the business acceptance of the new processes/tools and how these will work within the PLM systems. It also requires provision of appropriate support post-implementation to ensure ongoing adherence and delivery of intended benefits.

Process Owner & Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Supporting the Process Owners & Optimisation Leads in identifying and assessing process areas for improvement in RDD

  • Working with the Stakeholders and Process Owners to ensure that the business processes and optimised solutions meet the requirements of the business

  • Ensuring that both UK and SEA functional requirements are equally represented in the designed improvements

  • Working with the IT solutions teams and external contacts and experts to incorporate industry good practice into the business tools, processes, and/or systems as appropriate

Process Improvement:

  • Leading the identification and deployment of quick win process and system changes

  • Driving agreement and documentation of the scope of planned Optimisation activities, ensuring agreement from all parties involved and managing any subsequent amendments

  • Leading delivery of Optimisation activities using process improvement tools and engineering knowledge (including major projects that might involve stakeholders outside RDD)

  • Conducting project management for Optimisation activities, including stakeholder, risk and change management responsibilities involved in large change projects which may impact large numbers of users, significant systems and process changes.

  • Leading process design workshops/activities with relevant end user and IT representatives, as well as senior sponsors when appropriate

  • Ensuring pilots and tests are conducted where necessary to refine any planned updates to tools, processes and/or systems

  • Collaborating with stakeholders globally to ensure that updated processes and systems will work in all geographies and all necessary functions

  • Supporting the Optimisation Leads in readying the business for any process, people and/or system changes.

  • Delivering deployment activities for any process and/or system changes

  • Responsible for the development and execution of communications for the projects they work on

  • Ensuring related process documentation is updated, as well as driving any updates to deliverables in the respective product development processes

  • Support the creation of yearly improvement roadmaps for key process areas.

  • Capable of managing and developing direct reports.

Process Adherence:

  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to capture and analyse data to assess process performance to understand adherence levels and improvement requirements

  • Capture and analyse data to evaluate the improvements delivered by Optimisation activities and to subsequently make any necessary refinements

  • Capture and document benefits to demonstrate the difference optimisation activities have made on specific areas and processes (ideally in a data based and quantifiable form)

User Support & Training:

  • Working with the Technical Training team, to develop training for the projects they work on; delivering to small groups and transitioning responsibility to Technical Training for larger groups and/or business as usual delivery

  • Ensuring delivery of appropriate end user support to maximise business adoption of deployed tools, processes and systems (especially when an Optimisation activity has resulted in change)

Collaborate closely with other team members to share good practice and represent the wider business processes that the Optimisation team supports



  • Engineering background with experience of working in a fast paced environment

  • Good understanding and experience of consumer product development business processes and good practice

  • Interest in how business works and desire to improve our performance

  • Excellent business analysis and problem solving skills

  • Good understanding and experience of Lean Sigma or other process improvement methodology

  • Ability to adapt process improvement methodology when reviewing end to end processes for all business functions

  • Strong project management, planning, time and risk management skills

  • Proven track record of implementing business process changes within engineering working practices and systems

  • Team player, comfortable dealing with all business levels

  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly at all levels (both in written and verbal format)

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply

  • Quick learner with the ability to deliver under pressure

  • Good attention to detail without losing bigger picture

  • Good understanding of business IT applications, especially Sharepoint and Siemens Teamcenter PLM.

  • Sensitive to and experienced in cultural differences across Dyson Worldwide

  • Understanding and experience of Value Stream Mapping Methodology.

  • Relevant training or experience in QMS implementations.

  • Project Management training or experience.
