Dyson opened its new Singapore Technology Centre earlier this year. In this ambitious, top secret centre, some of the world’s brightest engineering minds continually push the boundaries of science & technology.
Market OverviewOur Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics driven activities. Not too far away is West Park, our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.
Function OverviewDyson’s Programme Managers play a critical role in delivering Dyson’s future technology. Coordinating and communicating across all disciplines of design, procurement, manufacturing, commercial and marketing to ensure the effective and timely delivery of projects, against defined boundaries of time, specification and cost.
During this placement you’ll be working on reputation-defining projects from day one as part of a global team of Programme Managers. You’ll play a critical role in the development of new Dyson technology ensuring project deliverables are met in a timely manner. This is a broad and varied role, meaning no two days are the same. Some of your responsibilities could include:
•Coordinating and communicating project status cross-functionally to ensure effective and timely input
•Taking an active, hands-on role to understand how engineering problems are resolved thoroughly and help support that resolution
•Utilising established Dyson development processes, good engineering practice and discipline to deliver solutions
•Governance and organisation of project related information
•Supporting the allocation of resources against time plans and support finance in overall project cost management
•Working with development teams to ensure new technologies maximize the performance of new products
