Intern (Human Resources)
Dyson opened its new Singapore Technology Centre earlier this year. In this ambitious, top secret centre, some of the world’s brightest engineering minds continually push the boundaries of science & technology. Our HR agenda is equally ambitious, sitting at the centre of Dyson.
Our Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics driven activities.
Not too far away is West Park, our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.
Function OverviewDyson is about technology. Technology created, and brought to market, by people. HR and people are at the heart of Dyson – with specialist functions for Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Operations and Rewards. HR links these all together, overseeing every people-related decision, with unique knowledge of the bigger business and commercial objectives. Integral to business performance success, HR is the objective and independent voice of the business, supporting our culture, campus expansion and new ways of working. Driving the Dyson of the future.
As a HR intern you will get immersed in a busy HR department and will have immediate responsibility. You will experience all aspects of HR – reward, recruitment, operations and talent and you will work closely with HR Business Partners to support the people agenda.
You’ll be performing a real role, which may include responding to employee requests, supporting line managers and assisting in recruitment and new starter inductions. You’ll be contributing in your role within a team, but there’ll be a variety of projects to get involved with, broadening your exposure to the role of HR in a rapidly growing business. Show us what you can do and there may be an offer of a graduate role upon graduation!
You’ll need to be organised yet flexible, skilled in building relationships and keen to develop knowledge. You will be studying for a degree but the degree subject is less relevant. The role can be analytical so a head for data is important, as are your communication skills.
