Description

Referred to as our International IT programme, in two years you will experience a diverse and challenging range of IT enabled projects as a Business Analyst. The programme will start in our Global Head Quarters for the first year and then the expectation of worldwide assignments in the second year.

Dyson Overview

Things move quickly at Dyson. In twenty years, what began with one man and one idea has grown into a global technology company, with 6,000 people and a presence in over 70 countries. From Malmesbury to Malaysia to the US to Australasia and many countries in between, we’ve sold over 80 million machines.

And it’s just the start. From 2016 our Malmesbury HQ is doubling its footprint. The US, our biggest market, is doubling their sales scope. And new frontiers are opening up across South East Asia and beyond. More people, more ideas and more space for more invention. The next four years will be our biggest and busiest yet.

Market Overview

Home to our global Research, Design and Development (RDD) centre and all of our Commercial functions, the Dyson HQ campus can be found in secluded countryside that helps keep our secrets secret. Having doubled in size in 2016, the campus is now home to new research and development facilities, a new restaurant (home to an English Electric Lightning jet) and a sports facility catering to all Dyson people. Nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).

Function Overview

Just like everywhere in Dyson, IT is growing. Dyson is investing and upgrading our online presence, retail, customer care, marketing support, and the front and back office technology that drives our business. In a company whose ideas are worth billions, IT security is also critical. So it’s a bustling environment on the cutting edge of IT. As a graduate Business Analyst you’ll work in a real job from day one. Supported by industry experts, you’ll get experience across technical business analysis, security, infrastructure, testing, and more. You’ll be solving problems daily. Just like our engineers.

Accountabilities

The Business Analyst role is the bridge between the identification of business problems and providing technology solutions. You’ll be liaising with business users and stakeholders to support the management of change initiatives across all Dyson’s global markets using IT systems and business applications.

Projects areas are varied – with internal or external focus, and could include customer experience, business analytics, ‘digital leap’ our 2-year IT infrastructure upgrade, and other internal related digital projects. But key areas of the BA role will include:

Support for project planning and management – understanding business needs, responsible for quality of delivery, identifying risks and issues arising, taking ownership ensuring resolution.

Business change management – identification of business change elements, deliver designs that meet business requirements whilst minimising resistance along the way. Quickly identifying any problems as they arise and finding solutions to keep on track.

Supporting the development process – supporting a variety of delivery methods to ensure stakeholders are engaged and their feedback is managed appropriately to enable project success. Working with partners to make sure it is delivered on time and to quality levels.

Testing & training – not a technical tester, but you’ll partner with test analysts to identify design elements to interrogate to ensure they are aligned with the overall project plan.

Each project will have clear objectives for delivery in a given time period – becoming a systems expert, gaining in depth understanding of Dysons supporting technology and bringing this to life for customers as required. The programme will start in our Global HQ but by the second year you should be in one of the markets supporting global projects.

Skills

You will probably have a relevant degree, but you must be able to demonstrate you are technically driven, have an analytical background and show a relentless attention to detail. Expectations are high from day one so you will need to able to network, work autonomously and show resilience. Experience of organising yourself in a busy, deadline-driven environment would be great. But direct experience is not vital – we’ll teach you everything you need to know. It’s all about showing a passion for the Dyson brand. And being raring to go to any country.  We’ll expect a lot from you. And no day will be the same as the last.

Benefits Overview

Do all this and in return you’ll get a competitive salary and pension, profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. With a vibrant culture, flexible working hours, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.
