Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.

The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

Dyson sees every hire as long term. Relentless in growing the business through our people, we treat everyone as ‘part of the family’ from day one. Our HR Operations team support each individual Dyson journey: from welcoming new starters, to supporting them as their careers develop. If anyone does decide to leave, it’s their job to get to the bottom of it – advising the business on what can be done to constantly improve the Dyson experience. Today, armed with advanced new technology, HR Operations is embracing new challenges and rapidly evolving into a fully global function.

Accountabilities

On-boarding

  • Create employee’s p-file and profile in Dyson People, ensure all info required is completed.

  • Handle and coordinate Employee Induction Program

     

    Off-boarding

  • Send acknowledgement email to leavers on acceptance of resignation

  • Send email notification to inform stakeholders

  • Update resignation list

  • Ensure checklist is completed and changes to people manager is updated

  • Terminate access on People

     

    Employee Lifecycle

  • Track, follow up and close the loop for processes such as Probation Review, JDF machine, return of acknowledgement letters

  • Generate letters for various purposes such as employment certification

  • Ensure Dyson People and all required documents are updated, accurate and completed

  • Participate and support in HR projects

Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and meticulous

  • Able to travel between sites and also to Malaysia occasionally

  • Able to communicate with all levels of employees

  • Familiar with local regulations

  • Experience in manufacturing will be an added advantage
