It’s a great life on the road, meeting customers, bringing their well-loved Dyson products back to tip-top condition and selling new Dyson products to them.
Repairing and servicing all Dyson products within customers’ homes within your designated territory, you will show them real professional customer service and after-sales support.
You’ll thrive in your virtually self-employed status, normally working from your own home. With a basic 39 hours per week there will also be some weekend calls… you will work one Saturday in four with a short finish on Fridays to compensate. However, you’ll need to be flexible because there will be times when you are asked to travel to other adjacent areas and customers may ask for your visits to be booked outside of normal working hours.
The post code area you will be covering will be TW postcode.
Why put up with vacuum bags that diminish suction? Why labour drying hands with slow, energy-hungry machines? Why should fans use blades or lightbulbs fail so fast? There’s always a better way. And at Dyson, our mission is to find it. Solving old problems with new thinking, to invent machines that work better.
But innovation isn’t easy. Our engineers experiment relentlessly, persevere through failure, and search for answers in unlikely places. And, to put the technology they invent into our owners’ hands, Dyson commercial people do exactly the same. Defying convention. From source, to shop.
Home to our global Research, Design and Development centre and all of our Commercial functions, Dyson HQ is tucked away in countryside famous for the railway tunnels and bridges of Isambard Brunel, who revolutionised modern engineering. Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath (where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology).
The building is the heartbeat of Dyson. Over 1,500 people, including James himself, spend their days strategizing, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world. From 2016, our HQ will begin doubling its footprint with an ambitious new expansion.
Our Customer Service team epitomises Dyson’s problem-solving ethos. There’s no query our Ask Dyson teams can’t answer. And there’s no fault our Field Service engineers can’t fix.
Driven to turn owners into passionate advocates of the brand, our team makes each experience rewarding. It requires in-depth knowledge and genuine passion for Dyson technology. So we never miss an opportunity to talk about Dyson’s latest machines – and frequently sell products as well as solve problems. From letters and emails, to calls, online and social media, our team is constantly evolving to give better service.
Meeting sales targets will also be a big part of your day, offering your customers consumables, accessories and, of course, our market-leading technology and latest products. You’ll need to be totally open to new ways of working, embracing exciting new technology as we develop it. You must have face-to-face Customer Service experience, sales ability and good electro/mechanical skills. A natural problem solver with great attention to detail you should have great interpersonal skills and faultless time-management. A clean driving license is of course essential; able to navigate in unfamiliar areas you must control your van stock and maintain documentation.
This is a great opportunity if you are keen to be mobile, meet people of all types and relish a high level of job satisfaction. We believe in nurturing talent and challenging people, so you'll get all the support and mentoring you need to succeed.
Along with a competitive salary, this opportunity offers great benefits including profit related bonus, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, occupational health, child care vouchers and free professional advice on pension, mortgage and legal issues.
