As the Talent Development Senior Manager, Americas, you will establish and facilitate a talent culture and plan for Dyson Americas based on current and future gaps and opportunities. You will explore what our people need to learn to grow and be even better. As a strategic business partner, your initiatives, programs and learning approaches will align with our business needs, and be in tune with our unique culture, solving interesting and complex challenges. You will be defining and delivering an Americas talent development plan that that is engaging, fun, and most importantly build those capabilities needed to enable our people to create the future.

The global talent team enable Dyson’s success and ambitious growth plans. Commercially fixated, we help realize complex, time pressured, technical and risky goals.

  • Work alongside the Global Head of Talent and the Regional People and Places VP to ensure that all the Americas leadership, talent, professional and organizational development initiatives  are planned, resourced, and executed in line with needs
  • Map out clear and organized plans for team success, working collaboratively across Americas and global HR  teams to ensure efforts are highest value, aligned, and well balanced with the end user in mind
  • Identify current and future learning and capability needs , identify regional strengths and gaps, define an Americas talent and development plan to address
  • Develop and deliver a robust talent development / learning calendar for the region. Partner with internal teams and leaders to develop learning modules, programs, and events that ensure we develop and retain key talent
  • Create, and facilitate meetings, webinars, special events, and customized engagements for development , outsourcing to external partners when needed
  • Continue to raise the bench strength and engagement of people leaders at all levels and deliver leadership development programs and initiatives
  • Accelerate readiness of high potential talent and  bench for key roles – creating an engaging , high accountability talent experience  , working with senior leaders to create , design and sourcing content required
  • Transform our induction process to create inspiration and engagement
  • Embed a strong talent management approach, with a clear, data driven picture of Americas talent and bench.  Succession for critical roles.  Management of talent into, around and out of Americas partnering with HRBPs
  • Champion the Dyson performance approach -  annual objective setting process, performance feedback model -ensuring understanding, capability, and stickiness
  • Understand Dyson talent & development philosophy and embed the ethos in everything you do. Partner with and influence the Global Talent team, ensuring Americas needs are considered and represented in Global programs/ projects. Champion global talent priorities 
  • Manage our local Learning Library ensuring workload, setting priorities, allocating resources, and overcoming challenges to deliver on time and on budget
  • Build trusting relationships within by understanding and delivering on needs that are identified, gaining commitment of the executive leadership team through clear strategy, execution plan, metrics
  • Travel across the region to build an understanding of requirements and develop key relationships with stakeholders and talent
  • Lead and coach your direct report (and virtual extended team) to assist in the delivery of best-in-class learning solutions
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve our solutions


What you need to have: 

  • At least 7 years’ experience in consulting, designing, and implementing talent, leadership and professional development programs and initiatives
  • Experience creating innovative custom learning solutions using various tools and technology
  • A toolkit of talent management, leadership, and organizational development knowledge and solutions 
  • Facilitated leadership and team development at all levels
  • Relish the challenge of identifying and solving complex problems
  • Ability to think creatively and pragmatically
  • Adept at coaching and facilitation, with problem-solving skills and an adaptable communication style
  • Ability to keep a cool head and fight on; you know how to forge onward even when the path is not clear or even entirely uncharted
  • Experience building trusting relationships and influencing at senior levels
  • Ability to hold the attention of a room and develop influential relationships that will inspire leadership to seek your consultation and partnership to identify world class talent solutions 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required

Even better if you have:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience
  • Motivated and inspired an organization to create strong learning outcomes
  • Balanced competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment
  • Cross-functional project management experience or training program management experience in a virtual environment
  • Ability to prioritize, direct and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing a regional agenda 
  • Psychometric qualifications
