Dyson is expanding its solution capabilities and introducing a number of tools within the IBM Rational suite. This includes DOORS Next Generation, Rhapsody, Team Concert and Quality Manager.
The ALM Application Engineer is required to support the development, configuration & delivery of these new solutions as well as on-going evolution and support of the tools.

Function Overview

Product complexity within the electronics and software domain is rapidly increasing, the need to perform system modelling and requirements management is a growing discipline and therefore enterprise level solutions to support these activities is required.


You will initially work closely with a delivery partner to deploy the IBM tools (DOORS Next Generation, Rhapsody, Team Concert and Quality Manager) for use within the business.
You will be involved in the development of configuration changes, responsible for system administration, work closely with other areas of IT to develop and maintain on-going support and stability of the systems.

You will also be involved in the development & support of integrations between IBM tools and existing solutions within Dyson (e.g. PLM)
Ensure thorough testing of proposed configuration changes are performed and documented to an appropriate level, both from a system and end user perspective.

Ensure all configuration, testing, communication plans and documentation required is in place prior to releasing approved changes to production environments.

You will be involved in the building and delivery of additional application environments (sandbox, training, QA, production) as required plus additional IBM / ALM tools in the future, also be involved in the development and delivery of client applications.

You will be expected to take full end to end ownership of certain elements / business processes / capabilities within the ALM solution suite. You will report to the PLM Technical Delivery Lead, working closely with other members of the immediate team, third party vendors, as well as other areas of IT, and teams within the business.


We are looking for someone with strong electronics and software engineering background with technical hands on experience with the IBM Rational suite; experience in configuring applications such as DOORS Next Generation, Rhapsody, Team Concert and Quality Manager. It would be advantageous if you have experience of system modelling and requirements management. The candidate should be able to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
